Human life is precious; something to be nurtured, to be loved divinely… Art is inherently human; nothing else can do “art”. Eye-hand coordination, imagination and translation of emotions through stimulated perceptions combine to offer the viewer a transcendental experience…
Time and space are no longer controlled by the viewer; the manifestations of the artist, placed in a public arena, control the viewer, irrespective of the viewer’s preconceptions, prejudices and existing feelings, thoughts and emotions.
This is the function of art – a cause/effect relationship between producer and consumer in the exchange of intangibles, sensory stimuli, the source of which may or may not be available for acquisition, yet once introduced into the environment, nothing remains the same…

I received a Presidential appointment as a voting member of National Task Force on the Arts and Humanities under President Reagan with William Bennett, then Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities and Margo Albert as Co-Chair for this Task Force.
October, 1976 – My arts education theory and research position paper was published in the National Arts Educators Association Journal. The Necessity for the Arts as a Primary Consideration in the Public School Classroom became the basis for graduate studies workshops at Trinity College in Washington, DC. This paper initiated the successful campaign to require arts education classes to receive a high school diploma in the US public schools. It is indexed and available globally from the World Wide Web.
1968 – 1974 – Undergraduate studies completed – Developmental Psychology and Studies in the Arts; Honors Graduate, Stockton College, Pomona, NJ (1972-1974). I received State certifications to teach art and special education in secondary schools in New Jersey and in Florida. My Senior Visual Arts Exhibit was in October, 1974. I began my undergraduate studies on a scholarship to Rutgers in New Brunswick, NJ, as a pre-law, Engl. Lit. Major and switched to SSC in 1972, after taking a break for a few months in 1970-1971 at Atlantic Community College for theater classes. I opened a small retail clothing business in Atlantic City during the 1971 season. I met a woman who I married in 1972 and my daughter was born in June, 1974. I was an independent film maker and I was invited to show my work at Cannes in the later 1970s. I created the illustrations and copy for a self-teaching mathematics program, Modu-MATH, for 35mm slide presentation in academic work stations, and students could go from naming whole numbers to exponential factoring in about 6 months without a teacher, and using a slide projector, a projection screen and a workbook and audio cassette. This was a grant-funded project. I hand-made each 35mm slide using clay-coated paper and IBM Selectric typewriters with a sans serif font ball and film-based ink ribbons for 100% transfer.
June, 1968 – High School graduation, top 10% - received full-paid academic scholarship with a weekly stipend and books honorarium and attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ until 1970.
October 19, 1966 – My “Junior” year in high school – Varsity athlete and summer season lifeguard – best pool; swimming team (freestyle and butterfly) and crew team (stroke – Varsity “4”) – and then – BAM! An automobile struck a motorcycle that I was riding, October 19, 1966 – I paralyzed my lower right leg and fractured my right side hip and some nerves and muscles. My life changed in a radical way!!! Things that used to matter no longer mattered … it was all about my art and my pain and my inconvenience. I was angry! Today, my art has a more content posture and my anger is altered to opportunity and viable self-expression. Acceptance of my own history and experiences and a program of action to manage all my affairs effectively, successfully and economically beneficial are best for me and to the world at large.
September, 1964 – June, 1968 – Atlantic City High School honor student.
