Ed Purver is a new media artist based in Brooklyn. His work places human voices and faces into architecture, both physical and virtual, bringing narrative and character both to the physical structures that shape our urban landscapes and also to the information architecture that carves out our digital lives. A 2007 graduate of NYU with a Masters degree in Interactive Telecommunications, Ed was a recipient of the Franklin Furnace Fund award in 2008/09, a winner of the MTVu Digital Incubator design competition in 2007 and recently completed an artist residency at Digital Performance Institute, New York. His multimedia performances, created with Sara Kraft, have been performed in multiple venues in San Francisco and New York. His interactive video work has most recently been shown at Siggraph, the DUMBO Art Under The Bridge Festival and at the Soapbox Gallery, Brooklyn. He has worked in collaboration with internationally recognized artists including The Builders Association, The Wooster Group, Leni Schwendinger Light Projects, Janet Sternburg and Seoul Institute of the Arts.
