As an all-Native hip-hop crew originating out of Oklahoma City, Culture Shock Camp’s sound and vibe are defined by its unique and powerful blend of hip-hop and Native music that promotes a message of wellness, unity and Native pride. The group has a cutting edge style that enables them to take audiences on a unique cultural journey through every performance. Culture Shock’s dynamic sound combined with the powerful message they convey through music and words leaves a lasting impact on audiences, particularly on Native youth. As a result, Culture Shock Camp was recently named “one of the most celebrated hip-hop groups in the Native American world” by The Source Magazine, one of the largest-selling hip-hop magazines in the country. Brian (DJ Shock B) and Quese IMC through Culture Shock Camp have achieved increasing cross-over and mainstream success playing to sold out shows throughout the United States and Canada. This past summer, Culture Shock was among the featured artists on the “Vans Warped Tour” that include some of the hottest acts in music today and played to sold out crowds as large as 25,000.
