Christian Marclay is known for his work in a wide range of disciplines, including performance, visual art, and music. Since 1979 he has pioneered the experimental use of records and turntables to create a 'œtheatre of found sound' and has collaborated with artists such as Sonic Youth, Elliott Sharp, and Otomo Yoshihide. He has had solo exhibitions at the Tate Modern, London (2004), the Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco (2001), and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2001), as well as many group exhibitions around the world.
