Description: Video of "Cutting the Iron Curtain" by Bettina Forget, an installation to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9 and 10, 2009.
A screen of about 150 traditional German pretzels was installed in the Visual Voice Art Gallery in Montreal, Canada. Bettina then invited visitors to the gallery to cut off a pretzel, thereby cutting away at the symbolic 'Iron Curtain". The exhibition also included a series of photos showing the artist hammering away at the Berlin Wall after the fall and a piece of the Berlin Wall itself.
