A lackadaisical la-dee-dah of this and that (but ever so selective), the improvised puts its finger on the spur of the moment and rides it. Improvisation seizes the day's detritus and makes it dance to its own odd tune. It uses what's new to hand and eye, moving by practiced instinct. It is responsive, sensitive to surroundings and the slightest of inclinations.
Themes represent basic categories of thought, emotion, or value. While our assignment of themes may at times seem arbitrary or whimsical, they serve to link together artists and movements along non- hierarchial pathways. Follow the themes to look for new disciplines that share qualities with those you already like, or to open up new worlds of Art and Culture.
