Hayao Miyazaki

Miyazaki is Japan's most successful director and his Ghibli Films' partnership with Disney has made a number of his most popular anime titles available in the United States. These are fantastic works that feature action-packed stories of a different kind. A grand-mother who leads a pirate gang, environmental concerns and a little girl who strikes off on her own to earn her witches broom are subjects and themes that distinguish this series from predictable animation from the U.S.
