Ginestrelle A.I.R. Artists-in-Residence 2010-2011
Where Arte Studio Ginestrelle, Regional Park of Mount Subasio Assisi (Italy) When 13 of March 2010 - 11 of January 2011 Deadline Until Full Objectives (Aims) - to promote international artistic mobility - to stimulate creativity through direct contact with nature and respect for the environment, - to favour a moment of interchange of ideas on contemporary art, - to set up artistic workshops, exhibitions, and open-air art along the paths of Ginestrelle, in the Regional Park of Mount Subasio. During the stay each artist will be able to develop his/her project-work in the various artistic fields: - Visual Arts (painting, drawing, photography, installation art, land art, sculpture, etc.) - Literary Arts (fiction, poetry, script writing) - Performing Arts (dancing, music, drama) All creative work can be done both: - inside, in the common studio and/or in the common work hall; - outside, in two refurbished barns re-adapted as laboratories and in the local surroundings. Grants The cultural association “Ginestrelle” can assist artists seeking grants or other forms of funding in their home country/institution, by providing invitation letters when the candidature is accepted. Cultural aspects All artists will have the possibility to show and promote their works in Assisi – UNESCO Patrimony - and in other places of Umbria. The Association Ginestrelle has the possibility to organize the opening of any exhibition. It can also organize press conferences and campaigns to inform the public. § A personal exhibition will be organized at the end of the residency at the Arte Studio Ginestrelle. § A final collective exhibition of all the works will be presented in Assisi at the prestigious art gallery “Galleria Le Logge” from 25 of November to 02 of December 2010. Duration of residencies: 1 week to 1 month The program fee includes: Bed & Breakfast accommodation in double or single room, use of electricity, water, heating, final cleaning In common, the centre offers: - studio - work and exhibition spaces - 2 ex refurbished barns re-adapted as laboratories - some natural materials as stones, wood etc. - wireless internet access - biological foods: olive-oil, vegetable, fruit, marmalade, cake, pasta - kitchen - living room - 3 bathrooms All other expenses for transportation, materials and equipment are not included. Participants are responsible for all their own insurance coverage.
