Tohorā: Fugue for Trumpet and Whale

http://audio.netpraxis.net/placard_plug4/tohora.mp3

I had a brief conversation with Roger about his site a few months ago; he is an interesting and very creative, artist.  I’ll be writing more about him in future posts.

He has worked with theatre, TV, performance artists, many other musicians and composers and is a very talented and experienced sound artist. And he plays the trumpet!

Tohorā was a live Internet performance by Roger, inspired by a hydrophonic recording of a sperm whale in the Antarctic a number of years ago. It is a multi-layered piece composed of looped trumpet drones and manipulated field recordings woven into the mellow and poignant fabric of the whale song. Enjoy.

Here is a site in which you can access whale songs.
