In Javanese tradition, Ruwatan is a spiritual procession to remove bad luck living people who are in Sukertas (hard) Sukertas people, according to the story are the people who will be eaten by Kala. To get out of Sukertas one must di-Ruwat. In this ceremony was a puppeteer doing holy water and sprinkling Penguntingan to participants Ruwat hair and then Dilarung into the sea.
